Privacy-first summary: Home Central Dashboard does not require sign-ups, accounts, subscriptions, or user profiling. The app is designed to keep family dashboard data on your device wherever practical.
1. Overview
Home Central Dashboard is a family dashboard app by Impulse Media. It helps families view useful home information such as weather, dates, holidays, radio, photos, notes, bin schedules, stock watch information, and word-of-the-day content.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, where that information is stored, and how third-party services may be contacted when certain widgets are enabled or used.
2. No account required
Home Central Dashboard does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your name, email address, password, or profile information inside the app.
3. Information stored on your device
The app may store the following information locally on your device so your dashboard preferences continue to work:
- Selected theme and display preferences.
- Widget visibility settings.
- Weather location settings, including manually entered location name, latitude, and longitude if you choose to provide them.
- Bin collection names, colours, collection dates, and repeat intervals.
- Holiday region selection.
- Photo slideshow folder permission and slideshow timing.
- Scratchpad notes and drawings.
- Selected radio country, station, and any custom stream URL you enter.
- Selected stock market country and hero stock code.
This locally stored information is used to operate the app. It is not uploaded to an Impulse Media account because the app does not use accounts.
4. Photos and scratchpad content
If you choose a local photo folder, the app uses Android’s folder picker to access the folder you select. The app displays photos from that folder on your dashboard. The app does not upload your photos to Impulse Media.
The scratchpad is stored locally on your device. If you use the save function, the app saves a copy of the scratchpad image to your device’s Pictures folder. The app does not upload saved scratchpad images to Impulse Media.
5. Internet services used by widgets
Some widgets need internet access to show current information. Depending on the widgets you use, the app may contact third-party services such as:
- Weather and pollen forecast services.
- Public and school holiday data sources.
- Radio streaming providers.
- Stock quote or market data providers.
- Quote/reference sources for header quotes.
When the app contacts these services, those services may receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, device network information, and the requested data endpoint. This is standard for internet-based services and is governed by each provider’s own privacy practices.
6. Location
The weather widget may use a location you manually enter or a location selected by device/location features, depending on how you configure the app. Location information is used to retrieve weather-related information for the dashboard. The app does not create an Impulse Media location profile for you.
7. Microphone or audio-related permissions
The radio visualizer may rely on Android audio visualization capabilities to display movement based on the app’s radio playback. This is intended for visualizing the audio being played by the app, not for recording conversations. Home Central Dashboard does not use this feature to create voice recordings or send microphone recordings to Impulse Media.
8. Donations
The app may include a voluntary donation or support link. Donations are optional and do not unlock features, subscriptions, premium access, or preferential treatment. The app is intended to remain free to use.
If you choose to donate through an external platform, that platform may process your payment and collect information under its own privacy policy. Home Central Dashboard does not process payment card details inside the app.
9. Children and family use
Home Central Dashboard is intended as a family dashboard. The app does not intentionally collect children’s personal information through Impulse Media accounts or sign-up forms. Families should still be mindful of the photos, notes, or information they choose to display on a shared device.
10. Data deletion
You can remove app data by clearing the app’s storage, changing or clearing widget settings, removing selected folders, clearing the scratchpad, or uninstalling the app. Saved scratchpad images or photos stored outside the app may need to be deleted manually from your device.
11. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the app changes. When updated, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, contact Impulse Media through the support or contact details listed on the app store page or official website where this policy is hosted.
